Keynote Update Waiting

I want to update keynote, numbers and other apple applications, but the keynote is stuck at "waiting to install" mode like for several hours. i open the updates in app store, while the pause button is grey, and i don't know how to stop them.. A much welcome update. waiting for new iwork versions has almost been as long as waiting for the winter to end in westeros. but it’s been worth it, especially for keynote. the new keynote is easier on the eyes and easier to use — at least for beginners, as expert users might at first be a little surprised by the complete overhaul.. There used to be a remote app in the ios app store for controlling keynote on the mac from an ios device, but that function has now been included in the keynote for ios app.. But when i selected and held the icon (as in 3 fingers on the trackpad) until all the icons started to "wiggle", then i could click on the "x" on the icon which halted the update. the offending app was "xcode" and there is another topic on this site which refers to the problem with trying to update xcode via the app store..
